Choosing the right school for your child is going to have a determining influence on his or her future. The school, for kids with potential, is a stepping stone towards academic studies, and the level of preparation they get there will define how well they will be doing in University.

The transition from high school to University tends to be hard for most students. Grades often drop significantly, as the level of independent research necessary and levels of difficulty are set to a new high.

The exception is for students who’d attended an International Baccalaureate Diploma, an IB School.

About Streaming and Why Private Schools Don't Have It

In the Ontario public school education system, there exists a phenomenon from 1999 known as "streaming", which you will most likely already know about even if you have never heard the term. "Streaming" is the division of grade 8 students entering thesame high school into two distinct course types: applied and academic.
